Adjustments to Final Exam Schedules, Academic and Campus Operations - December 19 College Football Playoff Game

Oklahoma Football will host a first-round College Football Playoff game against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday, December 19, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. In preparation for the game and to accommodate traffic, parking, and safety measures that accompany game day, the university is adjusting academic and campus operations.

The OU Norman Campus will suspend normal academic and campus operations for students and employees on Friday, December 19.

OU Health Campus (all sites, including remote locations): Employees and students are to follow their normal work and class schedules until 2 p.m. Friday, December 19. Beginning at 2 p.m., the Health Campus will suspend normal academic and campus operations.

OU-Tulsa students, faculty, and staff will follow the guidance for their respective programs.

Academics

Norman Campus Programs: In-person classes on the Norman campus, including classes for Norman-based programs at OU-Tulsa, are canceled for Friday, December 19. Adjustments to final exams originally scheduled for Friday, December 19, are listed below.

OU Health Campus Programs: In-person classes on the OU Health Campus, including classes for Health Campus-based programs at OU-Tulsa, are canceled beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 19. Students on rotation or in clinicals should contact their faculty or preceptors for scheduling information. Students will be notified this week by their college of any changes to final exams scheduled for Friday, December 19.

OU Online programs will not be impacted, as their academic instruction concludes the week prior to the playoff game.

Final Exam Schedule Adjustments

The following adjustments have been made to final exams originally scheduled for Friday, December 19.

Norman Campus

These changes also apply to students on the OU-Tulsa campus who are part of Norman-based programs.

Friday, Dec. 19, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 17, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

College of Law
Students will be notified of changes to final exams that are currently scheduled on Friday, December 19.

OU Health Campus
Students will be notified this week by their college of any changes to final exams on Friday, December 19. This will include students on the OU-Tulsa campus who are part of OU Health Campus-based programs.

Employee Work Schedules

Norman Campus: Only essential employees should report in person, follow their designated game day schedules, and consult with their supervisor if they have any questions. For all other employees: No remote work; eligible employees will be granted administrative leave. Please check with your supervisor if you are unsure of your work schedule.

OU Health Campus: All employees are to follow their normal work schedules until 2 p.m. Friday, December 19. Beginning at 2 p.m., the OU Health Campus will suspend normal campus operations. Only essential employees should remain in or report to their on-campus position. For all other employees: No remote work; eligible employees will be granted administrative leave. Please check with your supervisor if you are unsure of your work schedule. OU Health and OU Health Clinics are not impacted by this closure.

OU-Tulsa: OU-Tulsa Health Campus employees will follow their normal schedules until 2 p.m. Friday, December 19. Normal academic and campus operations will be suspended all day Friday, December 19, for OU-Tulsa Norman campus employees.

Information regarding reporting leave/time will be communicated by Human Resources.

Parking, CART Shuttles, and Road Closures: Norman Campus

Parking: As with a normal game day, certain campus parking lots must be vacated by 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 18. Lots designated for campus housing will remain accessible to students with housing permits. Commuter permits are valid in any paid lot on game days.

CART Shuttles: On Friday, December 19, CART will run its game day shuttle route. Regular CART routes/shuttles will not be in service.

Road Closures: To promote efficient traffic flow and pedestrian safety, certain roads near campus will be closed or restricted. Visit SoonerSports.com for more information.

Building Access and Operations

With the exception of the facilities noted below, all Norman campus buildings not associated with game day operations will close at the conclusion of normal academic operations on Thursday, December 18, and will reopen Monday, December 22.

  • Bizzell Memorial Library: Will operate on a normal schedule. For operating hours, visit libraries.ou.edu/hours
  • Oklahoma Memorial Union: Will operate on a normal schedule.
  • Campus Dining: Will operate on a normal schedule. For the latest on Norman campus dining options, visit ou.edu/housingandfood

All OU campuses will resume normal operations, including regular work schedules, on Monday, December 22.
