Dr. Jennifer Hamilton holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate in Sport Administration, specializing in Sport Marketing and Sport Law. Dr. Hamilton earned these degrees at Brock University in Ontario, Canada, and Florida State University, and also completed coursework at the University of Western Ontario’s Law School.
Dr. Hamilton has held teaching appointments at Florida State University, the University of California, Santa Barbara, Gonzaga University, and Louisiana State University.
Beyond academia, Dr. Hamilton has worked with a variety of sport organizations, including the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL), the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), and the Tennessee Fury of the National Women’s Basketball League (NWBL). Dr. Hamilton also gained experience with PowerBar in event management, the Florida State Seminole Athletic Ticket Office, and the YMCA in membership services, as well as serving as Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator for Recreation and Athletics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Dr. Hamilton’s teaching interests include sport marketing, sport law, consumer behavior, diversity in sport, sport ethics, and organizational behavior. Dr. Hamilton’s research focuses on consumer behavior, sport marketing, and controversial issues in sport, including deviance and ethics.
