Jeremiah Bentley is the Glen McLaughlin Chair in Business Ethics and Associate Professor of Accounting in the Steed School of Accounting. He earned his Ph.D. in management with an emphasis in accounting from Cornell University. Prior to joining OU, he was the Dieter Fellow and Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Massachusetts. He has received numerous teaching and research awards and was recognized as the 2020 Best Early Career Researcher in Management Accounting from the American Accounting Association.
Bentley’s research focuses primarily on performance evaluation and reporting systems, including how reporting systems affect the tendency to distort reports, actions, and beliefs. His research has been published in The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Accounting Horizons, and other journals. He is currently serving as an editor at Accounting Open and is on the editorial boards of Behavioral Research in Accounting and Management Accounting Research. Bentley also serves on multiple boards and committees for nonprofits and professional organizations.
