Shery Isom’s OU career began in 2004 as the Certification Officer for the College of Education. She joined Price College of Business as an Academic Advisor in 2005. Ms. Isom was promoted to Director in 2011 and serves on the Provost’s Advisory Committee on Academic Advising, the President’s Graduation and Retention Task Force, and the International Student Services Academic Advisory Board. She also serves in an advisory capacity on the Price College of Business Undergraduate Programs Committee and the Price Faculty Petition Committee.
Sherry is a strong advocate for international students in Price College. She recently travelled to Nanjing University in China and presented at the BARCEF Education Fair in Astana, Kazakhstan. Ms. Isom hopes to strengthen the resources for students as they adjust to the culture of OU and Norman, OK.
Sherry graduated from OU with special distinction, earning a BS in Multidisciplinary Studies – History Focus. Her entire family is connected to OU: husband, Mark, graduated in 1981 with a BS in Electrical Engineering; daughter, Noel, is currently a graduate student in Sociology and has undergraduate degrees in International Area Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies and a minor in Portuguese; son, Ty, graduated in 2014 with a degree in National Security Studies and minors in International Area Studies and Arabic. Her eldest daughter, Nicole, is a Research Compliance Specialist at OU Health Sciences Center.
