Building Blocks for Success

Diane Horm, Ph.D., Director of the Early Childhood Education Institute at OU-Tulsa, discusses the ECEI’s work in the 2013 University of Oklahoma Research Report. The institute’s research focuses on evaluation of early childhood education programs and what components make them most effective for young children and families. In this video, Dr. Horm discusses the achievement gap between children from lower income homes and their more advantaged peers, and how early, high-quality education programs make a difference.
