About Amanda:

Amanda came to OU in the summer of 2023.  For the first 8 years of her career, she worked as an athletic trainer in a variety of settings in many states including South Carolina, Texas, and Illinois. She started her career in higher education and student support in Fall 2021 and has served first and second year students in their transition to college, major and career exploration, teaching first-year experience courses.

Some of her favorite things include spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog, watching reality television, baking and eating treats, reading, and exploring Norman and OKC.

What do you like most about working with new students?

My favorite part of working with new students is seeing their "lightbulb" moment! When they're able to connect their passions, major choice, or career plans and be excited about their education goals is truly the best.

What is your favorite place on campus?

An early favorite is the Van Vleet (South) Oval.  The first time my husband, daughter, and I came to campus to walk around after our move, we stopped here because of the beautiful view and the crimson and cream flowers. It felt so inviting and we loved the Sooner spirit!
