This last-dollar award covers the remainder of tuition and average fees at the University of Oklahoma for qualifying students who are not eligible for Oklahoma’s Promise. Tuition and fees will vary based on major. OU Online undergraduate students are not eligible.

A student who is enrolled in OU Onward will not have to pay tuition or average fees after combining OU and outside resources. Please check the OU Bursar website for exact course fees. OU Online undergraduate students are not eligible.
Full-time undergraduate students on the Norman, Tulsa, and Harold Hamm Health Campuses who meet OU Onward eligibility requirements are eligible for this last-dollar award. Undergraduate students enrolled through OU Online are not eligible.
To qualify for OU Onward for the 2027-28 school year as an incoming student, you must:

File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1.

Enroll as a full-time undergraduate student each semester.

Cannot be eligible for Oklahoma's Promise.

Be enrolled at OU as a full-time undergraduate student.

Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

Family of continuing students must show an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $100,000 or lower on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Incoming freshmen may receive the scholarship for up to four years of undergraduate study. Transfer students may receive the scholarship for up to three years of undergraduate study.

No matter which classes a student takes, combining outside and OU resources, a student enrolled in OU Onward will have up to $10,000 per year to cover fees. Students who receive Oklahoma's Promise are ineligible for OU Onward.
OU Onward is available for qualifying incoming in-state freshmen for four years and up to three years for transfer students.
A student must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student each semester to participate in the OU Onward program.
OU Onward begins for students entering OU in Fall 2027.
OU offers flat-rate tuition, allowing students to pay for 15 hours of tuition each semester or 30 hours per year. Students can take up to 21 hours each semester and still receive flat-rate tuition.
OU Onward is a last dollar, "gap filling" program. It combines total gift aid amounts of less than the cost of tuition and average fees, $15,532. OU Onward will raise the student's total gift aid up to $15,532. If the student already has gift aid in excess of $15,532 then the student will not receive OU Onward.
For 2027-2028 freshmen and transfer students, the guaranteed last dollar, “gap filling” OU Onward amount is $15,532.
OU Onward will not apply for the summer term.
If a student studies abroad through OU courses that are billed to the university, OU Onward could be used to pay for OU tuition and fee charges, but it would not apply to travel or study abroad program fees.
In cases where an undergraduate OU Onward student is taking Harold Hamm Health Campus courses, OU will work with the Health Campus to make sure they receive the proper benefit.
