United World College Scholars Program

Fall 2024 Application Deadline: 1st February 2024

The University of Oklahoma currently is home to over 300 Davis United World College Scholars from more than 100 countries. OU is a eight-time winner of the Davis Cup, awarded annually for the largest freshman class of UWC students in the United States, and remains the first public university ever to win the Davis Cup. OU UWC Scholars Program is now the largest program of its kind in the United States. The University is proud to partner with the Davis UWC Scholars Program and to provide an excellent undergraduate experience for all UWC graduates.

In October 2007 the University of Oklahoma became a partner university with the Davis UWC Scholars Program. OU’s first class of Davis Scholars enrolled in Fall 2008 and included four UWC students. Over a decade later, over 300 Davis UWC Scholars are enrolled at OU.

The mission of the University of Oklahoma is to provide the best possible educational experience for our students through excellence in teaching, research and creative activity, and service to the state and society. In the heart of the United States, OU offers all the great opportunities of a large research university and a small liberal arts college on a beautiful welcoming campus.

The University of Oklahoma combines the benefits of a public research university with the personalized attention often found only at a private college.  With over 170 degree programs from which to choose, more than 680 student organizations in which you can be part, opportunities to participate in cutting-edge research, and a vast array of athletic and fine arts events, the public university offers many advantages.

However, just like at a small college you also are known by name – not only by OU’s UWC Scholars Program staff, but also by your academic adviser who personally works with you as you select courses, explore internship opportunities and consider your future career.

While many of our UWC students are pursuing professional programs (such as engineering, architecture, business and journalism – all very popular options), there are over 170 degree programs from which applicants may choose.   Currently enrolled Davis Scholars are majoring in other areas such as international studies, the sciences, journalism, economics, liberal arts, languages, fine arts and much more.  Find out more from one-page overviews of every undergraduate degree program offered at OU.

At OU, there is a very strong UWC community-- in both numbers and engagement as a community and with the university at large.  Our staff coordinates activities and events that bring us all together as a group.  We believe in creating a sense of family for our students and every UWC student finds a place to belong here.

OU’s Davis UWC Scholars have contributed to this cause themselves.  Over 5 years ago UWC students on our campus formally organized as an official OU student organization, called The United World (TUW).  TUW is actively involved in promoting the UWC ideals and values at the University of Oklahoma.  The organization provides cultural programming, participates as a group in campus-wide events and activities, and provides community service to the OU and Norman community.

The Davis UWC Scholars community at OU is strong and thriving.  It continues to grow and our students are making a difference on our campus.  Join something great at OU!
