We want you to explore OU, to really get a hands-on experience with our faculty, staff, and students, and the best way to do that is by attending one of our on-campus events! We offer a variety of events you can attend throughout the year.

Due to the widespread nature of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the University of Oklahoma has limited campus events for high school seniors and transfer students planning to attend OU for the fall 2021 semester. Thank you for your continued patience during this time. 

As we plan to host these Fall 2020 events on campus for the following dates, we know these times are uncertain. We take the health and safety of the OU campus community, including our prospective students and their guests, very seriously. We will plan to implement social distancing measures and follow recommendations from the CDC for hosting events.

Join OU's Office of Admissions & Recruitment for the Virtual Principal & Counselor Conference to learn more about the admissions process, scholarships and financial aid, academic programs, and more!

For: high school principals, counselors, registrars, and superintendents; independent counselors; and tribal education liaisons.

The Asian American, Pacific Islander, & Desi American (APIDA) Leadership Conference (TALC), is an annual one-day conference which seeks to celebrate and empower student leaders of APIDA identity. TALC is hosted by the Asian American Student Association (AASA) at the University of Oklahoma. At the conference, students will be given the opportunity to develop as leaders, prepare for college, and build their APIDA community.

Scholars Day 2020 will be a virtual event and it is designed for high school seniors to explore the premier scholastic opportunities at OU. This day is designed to help you fully see yourself as a student at OU by engaging with dynamic programming. At Scholars Day, you will hear from current student scholars, experience the Honors College, and learn with esteemed faculty members in a mock lecture, gain insight into your desired academic program, and other exciting programs and resources that will help you thrive at OU. In order to attend, you must meet specific academic criteria.

On Friday, October 2, 2020 – guests who are registered for the Scholars Day event will have special access to come to campus for on-campus tours.

  • Friday, October 2 – On-Campus Tours for Scholars Day registrants at 9 AM, 10 AM, 1 PM, or 2 PM

On Saturday October 3, 2020 – students will experience Scholars Day virtually from wherever they are!

  • Saturday, October 3 – Virtual Programming from 10 AM – 1 PM

Date: Saturday, October 3, 2020 – with optional programming on Friday, October 2, 2020

For: High school seniors with a 3.5 or higher GPA

For: High school seniors and their parents from the north Texas area

Registration opens late August 2020 

Join OU's Office of Admissions & Recruitment and OU President Joseph Harroz Jr. for a Virtual Evening with OU! During this event you'll have the opportunity to engage with OU staff, current students, and the academic colleges, and learn why joining the OU Family is a great choice academically, globally, and beyond. 

For: High school seniors and their parents from the south Texas area, including Austin, Houston, and San Antonio.

Join us for a weekend of exploring all that OU has to offer you as a future Sooner! Students will meet with current OU students, faculty and staff to learn about joining the OU Family and so much more!

For: Admitted high school seniors for the Fall 2021 semester

Date: Friday, February 12 – Saturday, February 13, 2021

Registration opens January 2021 

During this two-day event, Sooners 2 Scholars attendees will have an experience tailored to their academic and extracurricular interests (such as our Honors College, education abroad opportunities, etc.). Students will meet with current OU students, faculty, and staff to learn more about joining the OU Family.

For: Admitted, high achieving high school seniors for the Fall 2021 semester

Registration opens January 2021 

The McLaurin and Lewis Leadership Weekend is a University of Oklahoma college preview program for African American students, hosted by Diversity Enrichment Programs. Attendees learn key developmental assets, network with other high-achieving students, and develop a strong connection with the OU community. Additionally, OU faculty, staff, and alumni present the benefits of an OU education with sessions on standardized test preparation, admissions, scholarships, financial aid, and campus life.

For: Admitted underrepresented high school seniors

Registration opens December 2020 

American Indian Visitation Day (AIVD) is one of the University of Oklahoma's signature opportunities for high school seniors who are part of the Native American community.

For: American Indian high school seniors who apply for admission for the Fall 2021 semester

Spend your spring break with OU! During the week of March 8 - March 12, come visit OU for an exciting campus tour! You'll meet with an Office of Admissions & Recruitment staff member and take a 90-minute walking tour of our beautiful campus with a current OU student. 

For: High school juniors and admitted high school seniors from Texas

Registration opens Spring 2021

Join current students representing Latino Student Life for a weekend full of academic achievement programming like skills training, connecting to people on campus, and preparing for the transition from high school to college.

Students interested in attending Latinos Without Borders must complete the application, which opens fall 2020. If selected as a final participant, you will be notified via email. 

For: Latino and latina high school juniors and seniors

Transfer Enrollment Days is an early enrollment opportunity for admitted transfer students! During Transfer Enrollment Days, students will be advised, enroll in courses, tour campus, and learn about all the campus resources available to them.
