OU Events

We want you to explore OU, to really get a hands-on experience with our faculty, staff, and students, and the best way to do that is by attending one of our on-campus events! We offer a variety of events you can attend throughout the year.

High School Seniors

We are looking forward to welcoming the next class of Sooners this August! Over the next few weeks, we have a couple of webinars to go over the New Sooner Orientation (NSO) and all things about housing! Learn more and register for the webinar by clicking the button below.

FOR: Admitted high school seniors

Webinar series

The TREE Conference is one of the largest high school educational empowerment conferences in Oklahoma for students from multiple backgrounds. The goal of the conference is to inform first-generation high school seniors of the numerous resources available to assist them as they prepare for the next step in life.

This conference is named in honor of Dr. Tomás Rivera, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, who grew up working alongside his family as a migrant worker and who was later named the first minority chancellor at the University of California Riverside.

FOR: First-gen and underserved high school seniors 

During this two-part event in Oklahoma City, students can learn more about OU, the application process, connect with OU admissions counselors, and receive assistance with letters of recommendation and writing essays for the admissions application.

FOR: High school seniors in the OKC area

During this two-part event in Tulsa, students can learn more about OU, the application process, connect with OU admissions counselors, and receive assistance with letters of recommendation and writing essays for the admissions application.

FOR: High school seniors in the Tulsa area

Students have the opportunity to discuss details of the admissions process, learn what to expect when submitting the application, and preview the OU application! Admissions counselors will be on hand to help students feel informed and confident when submitting the admissions application. 

FOR: First-gen seniors

The Weekend Experience is a celebration of the university's vibrant multicultural student experience. OU has a rich community that prides itself on care and belongingness. During this event, you and your guest will engage with current students, faculty, staff, and members of the OU Family who will make your experience on campus special! 

FOR: High school seniors interested in connecting with underserved student communities

The Gathering is a fun and casual event for incoming admitted freshman students interested in first-generation and underserved student connections. It is an opportunity to celebrate and kick off your admitted student weekend! During The Gathering, you can mingle with OU staff, current students, and different student organizations.

High School Juniors

Rising high school juniors - save the date for Sooner Saturday 2024! Join us for OU's largest open house event for high school juniors! At Sooner Saturday, you will learn more about our amazing campus by going on a campus tour, viewing our various living communities, exploring the academic programs on campus, engaging with student organizations, gaining resources on paying for college, and more.

Sooner Saturday

The McLaurin and Lewis Leadership Summit is a University of Oklahoma college preview program for underrepresented students. Attendees learn key developmental assets, network with other students, and develop a strong connection with the OU community. Additionally, OU faculty, staff, and alumni present the benefits of an OU education with sessions on admissions, scholarships, financial aid, and campus life.

College Transfers

Join us for OU's largest open house event for prospective college transfer students and high school juniors! At Sooner Saturday, you will learn more about our amazing campus by going on a campus tour, exploring the academic programs on campus, engaging with student organizations, gaining resources on paying for college, and more.

Sooner Saturday

High School Freshman & Sophomores

Join an OU Admissions Counselor for a virtual presentation about OU's academic programs, involvement opportunities, the admissions process, costs, and scholarships. Students are encouraged to submit questions during the presentation!

School partners & Community-based organizations

Join the Office of Admissions & Recruitment at The Crimson Summit! During the summit, you will hear from our 15th President of the University of Oklahoma, Joseph Harroz Jr., learn about resources for your students, engage with faculty, staff, and students, and meet with your school/organization's assigned OU admissions counselor! More details and event schedule to come in late July.
