A&E Services provides space inventory, space planning and space utilization analysis services. It is responsible for documentation and data associated with 13 million gross square feet of owned property on and off Norman Campus. Developed with a two-fold operation of providing strategic and thoughtful planning, as well as efficient data management for both current and prospective property and facilities.
The Space Inventory Services Team is a division within the Architectural and Engineering Services office that maintains a comprehensive database on space owned by the University of Oklahoma and occupied by OU programs, including off campus and residential properties. Space information is provided for Master Planning efforts to academic and administrative units in addition to outside federal and state agencies. The office also maintains a library of building floor plans, and the official Master Building List.
The responsibility of relaying space occupancy and uses is initially situated on all academic and administrative units at OU. Each department will have a designated Department Space Delegate. Delegates and Subdelegates will be selected by their respective department head, to complete building surveys produced by The Space Inventory Services Team. The Space Team provides the support, training and software to facilitate accurate data entry and retrieval for internal and external reporting produced by A&E Services. All space data is recorded in accordance with the Post Secondary Facilities Inventory Classification Manual.
