My Ph.D. Is in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

My primary role in the psychology department is to teach undergraduate courses in psychopathology,  clinical psychology, and mental health.  My teaching philosophy has evolved through my years of experience mentoring and teaching undergraduate students as well as through my clinical practice of psychology.   I place a high value on teaching science-informed knowledge while also incorporating what I have learned from 30 plus years of clinical practice experience as a licensed psychologist.   In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I also enjoy mentoring and advising undergraduate students who are interested in clinical psychology or in the broader field of mental health.  This guidance often involves discussing volunteer and job opportunities in the community and the university as well as post-graduation career and graduate school planning.   I also provide service as a speaker for campus organizations on a range of mental health topics.
