Assistant Professor, Biological Sciences Richards Hall ptseng at ou dot edu https://sites.google.com/view/ptseng/ Ph.D., Comparative Pathology, University of California, Davis, 2014RESEARCH:
The overarching goal of my research program is to elucidate the molecular and cellular mechanisms driving debilitating clinical symptoms - particularly itch, pain, and related sensory disorders in allergic and inflammatory diseases. These conditions severely impair quality of life and place a substantial burden on healthcare systems. To address these challenges, my laboratory integrates bioinformatic data mining for target discovery with mechanistic cellular assays and preclinical animal models, with the ultimate goal of translating these biological insights into targeted, mechanism-based therapeutic strategies.
