Here's What You Need to Know
The Kerber Scholar Program provides undergraduate students within the University of Oklahoma’s School of Computer Science the opportunity to gain tutoring experience, support student academic success, and collaborate with faculty and peers. Kerber Scholars serve as paid tutors who provide academic assistance in Computer Science coursework and help foster a positive, accessible, and supportive learning environment.

Strengthen your communication, leadership, and teaching abilities
Build professional connections with faculty and fellow students
Enhance your resume with relevant tutoring and mentoring experience
Make a meaningful impact by helping your peers succeed academically
Kerber Scholars work 20 hours per week in a paid position at 0.5 FTE. Responsibilities include conducting tutoring sessions, holding consistent office hours, attending training and meetings, and collaborating with faculty and staff to support student academic needs. This position is semester-based with potential for renewal.
Maintain weekly office hours and scheduled tutoring sessions (in-person and/or virtual)
Assist students with understanding course concepts, programming assignments, and study strategies
Collaborate with faculty to identify students in need of academic support
Participate in regular meetings and training sessions
Support departmental academic initiatives and workshops as needed
Maintain accurate logs of tutoring sessions and student engagement
These required courses must be passed with a "B" grade or higher
