Paul Brooks's research focuses on developing mathematical optimization methods to solve fundamental challenges in data science, interpretable artificial intelligence, and automated scientific discovery. Applications range from machine learning frameworks for complex high-dimensional datasets, to multi-omic data integration for predicting maternal health outcomes, to public sector operations research models for judge and court scheduling. Dedicated to bridging rigorous optimization methodology with real-world health and engineering impact, his lab is always looking for talented students and multidisciplinary collaborators to join these efforts.
