Norman campus: Rolling Admission
Complete online Application to Graduate College and EACS program prior to application deadline for the semester for which you are applying. When completing the online admission application please select a major code for either Norman traditional M315 or Blended/Online M316.
Applicants for the program leading to the degree of Master of Education (M.Ed.) must present the degree of Bachelor of Science in Education as conferred by the University of Oklahoma or the equivalent, including twelve hours of acceptable undergraduate work in education. The student may elect a thesis or a non-thesis program. A student will normally complete work within five calendar years after the student's first graduate enrollment at the University of Oklahoma.
B.S. in Education or equivalent is required for admission. Students must have 12 hours of prerequisite courses in Education. Students without the necessary prerequisites are expected to fulfill those requirements. Additional courses may be required depending upon the area of certification and the area of study.
In addition to the general requirements for all M.Ed. programs in EACS, students electing the thesis option must successfully complete the following proscribed coursework, and meet the thesis requirement (see bottom of the page).

M.Ed. admission procedures
In addition to the general requirements for all M.Ed. programs in EACS, students electing the non-thesis option must successfully complete the following proscribed coursework, and successfully complete a comprehensive examination (the Comprehensive Exam).
COMPREHENSIVE EXAMINATION:
The successful preparation and defense of a Comprehensive Exam is required for the non-thesis option in Educational Administration, Curriculum and Supervision.
This program is designed to prepare students for administrative and other leadership positions in schools. Students have access to a rigorous, high-quality program that is designed to meet the needs of working professionals by offering intensive weekend classes supplemented by outside research activities and field experiences. All coursework is offered at the Schusterman Center and/or online.
The master's program on the Tulsa campus is offered in a cohort format which begins each Fall. The application deadline for Fall admission is May 15.

The Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at the University of Oklahoma is committed to addressing the shortage by developing the next generation of school leaders. The online Master of Education in Educational Administration, Curriculum and Supervision will foster aspiring education leaders to principalship and other educational roles. The program is 36 credit hours and is designed for working adults. It can be completed in as little as 24 months while working full-time.
