Bailey Stephenson
Moriah Bailey Stephenson is a Ph.D. student in the Geography and Environmental Sustainability program and a master’s student in Music and Music Composition. Her interdisciplinary research explores how sound can be used to understand relationships between people, place, and environmental change. Focusing on the Tar Creek Superfund Site in northeastern Oklahoma, Stephenson examines how environmental contamination has altered the sounds and soundscapes that shape community life. Through sound-based research and storytelling, she seeks to document residents’ experiences and deepen understanding of the region’s environmental history.
"The goal of the OU Graduate College is to guide, support, and enhance the educational experience of every graduate student at the university. We value all scholars within the university and want your experience to affect you and your community in the best possible way."
