Upperclass Housing 2026-2027

2026-2027 Upperclass Housing Plan

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Upperclass housing refers to on-campus housing options offered to returning and transfer students for the 2026 to 2027 academic year.

As new buildings are brought online, older facilities are being taken offline. Walker Center is scheduled for demolition in summer 2026, which creates a temporary reduction in total bed capacity during the transition. Due to the University’s first-year housing master plan and Board of Regents policy requiring incoming first-year students to live on campus for two semesters, housing is prioritized each year for incoming first-year students. This can limit the number of spaces available for upperclass students.

No. Submitting an application does not guarantee an offer. Contract offers are made only as space is confirmed. Contract offers will be communicated via your OU email address.

Being on the waitlist means your application is eligible to be considered if space becomes available. It does not mean you are out of consideration, and it does not mean you will definitely receive an offer.

Contract offers begin Wednesday, Feb. 18. Offers are sent to a limited number of applicants based on available inventory and projected enrollment.

All official communications, including contract offers are sent to your OU email. Monitor your OU email closely beginning Feb. 18.

You will have five calendar days to sign the contract. If you do not sign within five days, your offer will expire and you will be removed from the waitlist.

Students who receive an offer and sign their contract will participate in room selection during their designated room selection window. Additional instructions will be sent to your OU email.

Students who receive an offer will be provided with a date and time to access room selection during a limited window. We will begin sending information for room selection March 5. If room selection is not completed within the stated deadline, the contract will be canceled and the space may be offered to another student.

Only if the other student has also received and accepted an on-campus upperclass housing offer. Students cannot request a roommate who did not sign a contract.

Upperclass students who need disability-related accommodations will need to register with the Accessibility and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) after receiving and signing their housing contract. The priority deadline for accommodations will be March 1. Housing works with the appropriate campus offices, including the ADRC, to support approved accommodations within available inventory.

If you no longer need on-campus housing, cancel your application through the housing portal as soon as possible.

Offers may continue as space becomes available and inventory is confirmed. If you are on the waitlist, monitor your OU email regularly for updates.

Because on-campus upperclass inventory is limited, students should make a parallel plan for off-campus housing, even if they are on the waitlist.

Students can use the University’s off-campus housing resource for local listings and property contact information: offcampushousing.ou.edu/listing.

Students with questions about leases or off-campus housing agreements may consider consulting OU Student Legal Services.

Students considering off-campus housing should also review transportation options through OU CART.

Yes. Parking is an additional cost and is not included in the housing rate. More information on parking options and fees for all OU Housing will be provided to students who receive an offer.
