Introduction to Energy ESG

TBD

There is a strengthening trend in the energy industry towards Environment, Social, and Governance (“ESG”)-focused management, operations, and reporting standards, yet there is a lack of opportunity for energy professionals to gain understanding of what ESG is, how it affects their work, and how they can leverage the concepts to benefit their company or organization.  The purpose of the “Introduction to Energy ESG” professional development course is to provide participants a working understanding of ESG, how it impacts the energy industry, and ways in which they can add immediate and sustainable value to their organization while operating in an environment framed by ESG-driven concepts, policies, and considerations.

Description & Requirements:

The Intro to Energy ESG course is an online 10-hour course designed for professionals in the energy industry as well as professionals supporting the energy value chain.  Taking place in five 2-hour meetings over the span of one week, the course is designed to appeal to those working any aspect of the energy value chain, including upstream, midstream, and downstream professionals as well as those in the financial services, energy services, and other businesses that support the energy industry.  One Continuing Education Unit (CEU) or 10 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) will be awarded to participants who complete the course, as well as a certificate of achievement from the University of Oklahoma College of Professional and Continuing Studies from the Irani Center.  No out-of-class work will be expected.
