NORMAN, OKLA. – Radhika Santhanam, the Michael F. Price Chair in Management Information Systems in the OU Price College of Business, was recently named a fellow of the Association for Information Systems. The AIS Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding scientific achievements, service and contributions to the field of information systems.
“I am truly delighted and honored that the many scholars I admired have chosen me to be worthy of this Fellow recognition. I have worked for several decades as a faculty enjoying both research and teaching, and it feels good that this contribution is recognized by my peers in the academic community,” she said.
Santhanam, who previously served as the Director of the MIS Division, led significant growth in student enrollment and placement, faculty development and growth and student scholarships. Under her leadership, the MIS programs received rankings from several agencies, including a top twenty undergraduate program ranking from the U.S. News & World Report. The graduate program also ranked among the top twenty in business analytics and faculty research productivity ranked among the top thirty globally.
"Radhika Santhanam has led the MIS division by example,” said Laku Chidambaram, interim dean of the Price School of Business. “She is a world-renowned researcher, a mentor for junior faculty and doctoral students, a tireless advocate for our students and a leader who took the MIS division to new heights. The prestigious AIS Fellow Award that she received last year recognizes individuals who are truly multidimensional in their talents and impact and is a fitting recognition of Dr. Santhanam's contributions to the MIS discipline, Price College and OU."
Santhanam has held senior editorial positions in various journals including Journal of the Association of Information Systems and Information Systems Research. She has served the AIS in a variety of roles, most recently as the program co-chair for the International Conference on Information Systems, held in Hyderabad, India in 2023. She is also an AIS Distinguished Member Cum Laude.
The AIS Fellow Award was established in 1999 by the AIS Council and the ICIS Executive Committee. AIS Fellows are expected to act as role model and an inspiration to colleagues and students within the information systems discipline. In addition, they should be capable of garnering the respect of individuals from outside the discipline who from time to time have an interest in the discipline. AIS Fellows should be esteemed for their high levels of professional and personal integrity.

The University of Oklahoma welcomed Siddhartha Mukherjee to campus for the Presidential Speakers Series dinner on the evening of Sept. 9 at the Oklahoma Memorial Union. Mukherjee — an oncologist, entrepreneur and Pulitzer Prize-winning author — delivered a talk titled “Research and the Future of Medicine.”
