Curriculum developed and taught by faculty from
Gene Rainbolt Graduate School of Busines
The Executive MBA in Aerospace and Defense program is specifically designed to develop the managerial and leadership skills of the aerospace and defense workforce, including those without a business education. The curriculum, developed and taught by industry leaders and renowned OU faculty, provides students the strength of synthesizing concepts and integrative thinking between A&D functions and business.
Participants in the Executive MBA in Aerospace-Defense (EMAD) can complete the program of study in a single year while continuing to work, which will enable them to acquire a broad base of Aerospace-Defense business knowledge and a deep understanding of the industry. The average time commitment is about 20 hours per week for readings and assignments. Assignments relate directly to work participants perform on the job to help students best retain and immediately apply new concepts.
Approximately 40 percent of the program’s teaching occurs during three 1-week residence weeks (RWs). Two of the RWs take place at the University of Oklahoma, with the third being a study abroad experience that allows participants to engage with aerospace and defense organizations in other locations. The remaining 20 credits of the program are earned during distance-learning classes worth two hours each, held between the RW sessions.
