Led by world-class faculty from OU’s Hudson College of Public Health, the only accredited public health college in Oklahoma, the program emphasizes a deeper understanding of population health and community health. Program Breakdown

OU Online’s Master of Public Health in Population and Community Health program is structured to prepare students for job advancement by cultivating a deeper understanding of population health strategies and health disparities. Students will learn how to promote healthy communities in their professional careers and gain the tools necessary to strengthen and improve health outcomes in their communities.

Students will learn how social determinants of health impact health outcomes, better understand public health policies and become familiar with the basics of emergency response.

This program allows students to begin their curriculum in the spring, summer, or fall terms.

Emphasizing health and the healthcare system, students will take courses in epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, environmental health, the U.S. healthcare system, and more.

How to Apply

To apply to the online Master of Public Health in Population and Community Health program, you must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university (or the international equivalent), a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and provide the following:

  • Complete the online application
  • Official transcripts from all previous undergraduate and graduate institutions
  • Professional resume or CV that includes past education and work experience
  • Written personal statement on career goals
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores for applicants whose first language is not English

The admissions committee operates under a rolling admission process, and admissions may continue until two weeks before classes start. The committee strives to respond to all applicants within two weeks of submitting a completed application.

Graduate tuition waivers cannot be applied to OU Online programs. OU Online programs qualify for the OU Faculty/Staff Tuition Waiver & Fee Exemption, and we encourage you to check your eligibility.
