Eric Conrad, Vice President for Operations and COO
Eric Conrad serves as the Vice President for Operations and Chief Operating Officer at The University of Oklahoma. Conrad has over 20 years of diversified experience in managing a number of operations from Fortune 500 companies to one of the nation’s largest private universities (Brigham Young University). He has directly managed operating budgets as large as $840 million and real estate portfolios valued over $4 billion. Additionally, he has overseen organizations as large as 2,700 employees that have included union and non-union employees spread across 3,100 buildings in 42 states. Conrad is well versed across all operational components including, but not limited to, facility and construction management, public safety, fleet services, housing services, university store, food services, sustainability practices, procurement, technology services and human resources. Conrad has a Bachelor of Science in Facilities Management from Brigham Young University and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University.
The Vice President for Operations is a member of the executive leadership team directly reporting to the President. The Vice President for Operations will ensure the efficient and smooth operation of essential university functions and services, including Facilities Management, Landscape and Grounds, Housing and Food Services, Public Safety, Purchasing, the Max Westheimer Airport, Parking Services, Printing, Mailing and Document Services, Risk Management, and the Jimmie Austin Golf Club.
The key responsibilities of the Vice President for Operations are to Lead the development of strategically integrated long-term capital plans including planning and design of major construction, space management, and building development, oversee operational and capital budgets directly related to facilities, driving operational efficiencies, productivity, customer service, oversee relationships with external vendors, ensuring adherence to university policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, provide analytical support for critical questions involving potential growth of the campus, space allocation, facility management, program planning, and other needs.
