Cassidy Sonnier Doucet earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations, with a minor in Spanish, from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she graduated summa cum laude. She went on to earn her master’s degree in organizational and interpersonal communication from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and her Ph.D. in organizational and health communication from the University of Texas at Austin.
She is a Lecturer of Business Communication in the Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma. In this role, Doucet draws on her expertise in organizational communication to prepare students to become clear, confident, and ethical communicators in professional settings.
Prior to joining OU, Doucet served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the College of Nursing at Texas A&M University. There, she worked with the Program of Excellence for Mothers, Children, and Families, overseeing community-based research, developing protocols for maternal health programs, mentoring students, and advancing projects focused on maternal mortality and morbidity.
When not working, Doucet enjoys spending time with her husband, their two young children, and two rescue dogs. She also loves gardening, water activities, and finding creative outlets beyond academia.
