Jim Rauch, Director of the Capital Group Fellows, earned a Ph.D. in economics from Colorado State University. He worked as a credit analyst for Green Tree Financial Corporation in St. Paul, Minnesota. His teaching interests include the topics of insurance, retirement planning, and commercial banking. His research interests are in small business bank lending and casino financial management. In 2002, Rauch was a visiting fellow at the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. While there, he wrote a paper on developing small business bank lending in Vietnam. Rauch has been a consultant for the Chickasaw Nation for 19 years and has served as a loan auditor for an Oklahoma bank. Prior to joining OU, he taught finance at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, and Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota.
