Staff Senate represents all benefits-eligible staff on the Norman campus. Each OU campus is represented by its own governing body:
Staff Senate meetings are held in-person and via Zoom, to find current meeting information, access our Meetings page.
Employees are not required or expected to use paid time off (PTO) to participate in Staff Senate meeting or sponsored events. Supervisors and employees are encouraged to plan schedules in advance to support participation, ensuring that operational needs are met while fostering engagement and professional development opportunities for staff.

Senator elections and calls for volunteers take place over the Spring and Summer months. Calls for nominations and volunteers are sent to all benefits-eligible staff via email. Staff are always welcome to volunteer or learn more about our Standing Committees by exploring our website or by reaching out to the committee's chair.
Yes, we also host Staff Week and other events throughout the year, like craft fairs, and host a variety of fundraisers to support our OU Community. All details are sent via email to all benefits-eligible staff. Staff Week is typically held each April, and details will be posted on the Staff Week page.
