Our Research
The ECEI uses multiple methods of data collection to provide formative information to programs that serve young children and their families. Data about program models are used to inform policy and practice at the local, state, and national levels. In addition, the ECEI examines links between various aspects of classroom experience and children's development.
Projects in this line of research include the Education Implementation Study, the Educare Randomized Control Trial and Follow-Up Study, the CAP Tulsa Research Partnership, and the SEED Study. We've also conducted classroom observations for Little Dixie's Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
Requesting Access to ECEI Data
The ECEI manages a range of research data collected across multiple projects and partnerships. Access to ECEI-managed data is available for approved research purposes and is subject to ECEI data governance and review procedures.
To ensure that data requests are appropriate, well-scoped, and aligned with ECEI’s research mission, all data requests begin with a brief pre-meeting with ECEI leadership or research staff. This consultation allows researchers to discuss their proposed project, data availability, and next steps before submitting a formal data request.
How to get started:
Researchers interested in using ECEI data should contact one of the following to schedule a pre-meeting:
- Kate Gallagher, Director, ECEI
- Cara Kelly, Lead Researcher, ECEI
