Online Students

In addition to in person degrees and courses, OU offers a wide variety of traditional degree, degree completion, certificate, and training courses online. The Writing Center serves students across all of OU's offerings, no matter your time zone and location. This page serves as a starting point for online students, and we encourage you to explore the entirey of our website.

The Writing Center works with writers in any course, at any level, at any stage of the writing process. We work with traditional first-year students, people returning to school after a long break, and graduate students who have been in school for (what may feel like) decades. This means we are here to help with your 2000-level cyber security and criminal justice leadership papers, and we are here to help you with 5000-level healthcare management research articles as well as your job, fellowship, and funding applications.

All OU PACS and online students are entitled to the same Writing Center services as students on the Norman Campus. We have ways to support your writing journey even if you are not local to the Norman or OKC area. Please take advantage of our remote service options. You can find out more information below by reading the page that pertains to each of our offered service types.

For remote course instructors, the Writing Center also offers virtual informational visits and class workshops. We are working to make all offerings available both synchronously and asynchronosly. More information about those services can be found below as well under Events, Workshops, and Classroom Visits.

The Writing Center's leadership team welcomes ideas and suggestions for future virtual programming and increasing remote access to our services. Use the contact link below to reach out.

How can the Writing Center help you?

Individual consultations are available for any course, any project, and (almost) any time. The Writing Center offers video conferences for students to speak directly with a consultant. If you're unavailable during our operating hours, that's not a problem: the WC also offers asynchronous written feedback appointments.
