Academic Life Coaching

What is Life Coaching?

Academic Life Coaching is a free, personalized partnership designed to help students thrive academically and personally. Unlike advising or counseling, life coaching focuses on where you are now and where you want to go, using one-on-one conversations to help you clarify goals, overcome obstacles, and create realistic action steps toward success.

Whether you’re navigating time management, motivation, career direction, or balancing responsibilities, life coaching helps you build confidence, accountability, and practical skills for college and beyond.

The College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences recognizes that academic progress is closely connected to personal growth and well-being. We are excited to have an embedded Academic Life Coach working directly with our students to make accessing this support easier and more approachable.

Meet Our Embedded Life Coach

Kylie Madole
Senior Academic Life Coach
kyliemadole@ou.edu

Sooner Born and Sooner Bred, Kylie Madole is a proud University of Oklahoma graduate with a degree in Organizational Communication and more than 15 years of experience supporting students in higher education. After years of guiding engineering students as an Academic Advisor, she expanded her impact through Academic Life Coaching by completing an intensive nine-month certification program in 2021 and empowering students ever since to build confidence, clarity, and momentum in their college journeys.

Kylie is a familiar face across campus, especially at the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences. What began as a summer role supporting New Sooner Enrollment grew into an ongoing partnership and now, you’ll find her weekly in the AGS Dean’s Suite, meeting students right where they learn, helping them thrive both academically and personally.

When she’s not coaching, Kylie channels her creativity into writing books, devouring a good read, gardening, and tackling her latest interior decorating project. She loves spending time with her husband and son, singing along to Taylor Swift, and enthusiastically sharing Disney World tips with anyone who asks.

Do YOU need coaching?

  • Do you find yourself missing assignments?
  • Struggling to balance coursework, research, or flight training?
  • Still finding your place at OU while away from home?

Academic Life Coaching is especially helpful for students in the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences. AGS programs like meteorology, climatology, geospatial science, and aviation are rigorous and career-focused, with complex courses and high-stakes professional preparation. Life coaching provides one-on-one support to help you stay organized, manage competing responsibilities, set goals, and build the confidence and resilience needed to succeed.

With guidance from an embedded Academic Life Coach, you can create a clear plan, strengthen study strategies, and move forward with momentum both in your classes and toward your long-term career.
