Dr. Marie Kirkpatrick is an Assistant Professor of Special Education in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Oklahoma. She is a doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) and the coordinator of the Applied Behavior Analysis Graduate Certificate. Her research focuses on preparing and supporting educators to use evidence-based practices that improve outcomes for autistic students. Her research focuses on training and coaching models that strengthen teacher implementation of behavioral and instructional supports in schools, as well as interventions that promote play, social communication, and engagement for autistic children. As Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI, Dr. Kirkpatrick has secured over $3.7 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Education, state agencies, and university internal grants to support educators and children and youth with disabilities. She serves on the Editorial Board for Behavioral and Social Issues and Advances in Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Through her scholarship, teaching, and mentorship, Dr. Kirkpatrick aims to bridge the gap between research and practice by equipping educators with the tools needed to foster meaningful inclusion and positive outcomes for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
