Cost

We understand attending college is a big investment. Not only does OU assist students financially through scholarships and financial aid, but OU offers undergraduate students flat-rate tuition. Full-time undergraduate students can take up to 21 hours per semester without paying additional tuition, helping them stay on track to graduate.  Students who have paid the flat rate and take fewer than 15 hours per semester may be able to bank hours to use in the summer. The rate is based on OU's current 15 credit hour rate of tuition and hourly mandatory fees.  Flat rate does not apply to graduate/law/advanced program students or some fees. The costs shown below are for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Direct costs include your academic and living expenses.

  • Tuition, fees, and housing and food (if you live on campus) will be charged to your OU Bursar account.
  • The tuition and fees estimates vary depending on your course selection. OU has a flat-rate tuition policy for full-time students allowing you to take between 12 and 21 credit hours and pay tuition for 15, but course-specific fees will vary.
  • The housing and food estimate reflects the average cost of our most popular floor plan. This amount can vary depending on where you choose to live.
  • Books and supplies for the majority of courses will not be charged to your OU Bursar account, but are included in this category because they are directly associated with enrollment. If you enroll in a course that automatically charges the course textbook to your Bursar account, you will be alerted in the course details upon enrollment and notified via email.
