Taylor Boyd

As a fourth-generation educator and sixth-generation Oklahoman, Taylor owes her passion for both education and the state of Oklahoma to her family. They have not only instilled in her a heart for teaching, but also have shown the necessity for quality educators to stay in the state to be positive role models for our students.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in School Counseling from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Taylor realized her passion was in adult and higher education. Revisiting what her family had passed down, she committed to remaining in Oklahoma to pursue a career in higher education and found her home at the University of Oklahoma.

While at OU, she has contributed to the Compass Network program, Graduation Gear-Up, Continuous Enrollment Call Campaign, President’s Community Scholars, Sooner Success Program, and University College Advising. She teaches UCOL 1002: First Year Foundations and is a trained Academic Life Coach.

Taylor has been named Outstanding New Instructor & High Impact Instructor by the Office of First Year Learning & Engagement for her efforts to First Year Foundations course. She was also honored as a NextGenUnder30 in Adult and Higher Education Recipient.

Taylor loves all sports, travelling to new places, and is a big fan of Broadway musicals.
