Students can access campus and community resources that support their well-being, personal success, and overall residential experience. Whether a student is navigating academic challenges, personal concerns, community conflicts, or unexpected circumstances, Residence Life is committed to helping students identify resources and support systems that can assist them during their time on campus.

Campus Referrals

The Office of Student Conduct administers the University's Student Rights and Responsibilities code, emphasizing positive behavior change and improved decision-making to help students overcome challenges and achieve their academic goals. The Office empowers students to develop effective communication and conflict resolution skills, fostering an understanding of how their choices impact themselves and their communities.

The Board of Regents created the Institutional Equity Office on January 24, 2012, to promote and foster the University's commitment to creating and maintaining a community where all persons who participate in University programs and activities can work and learn together in an atmosphere free from discrimination and harassment. The Institutional Equity Office reports to the President and Board of Regents and handles discrimination claims, affirmative action plans, claims involving the Sexual Misconduct, Discrimination and Harassment Policy, and gender equity issues related to athletics.

The Office of Advocacy & Education is dedicated to cultivating a safe and affirming environment for all students. Our services include OU Advocates, the OU Food Pantry, gender-based violence awareness and prevention training, and overall wellness education. Resident Support Resources

OU's Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) is a group of campus professionals who respond to referrals of disruptive or troubling behavior. The team consists of members from key campus areas including: Office of Admissions and Recruitment, OUPD, Provost's Office, Residence Life, Student Affairs, and University Counseling. 

Outreach is based on care and concern. Every effort is made to help the individual succeed in the classroom or workplace.

The UCC provides services such as individual and group counseling, psychiatric evaluation, and crisis intervention. Professional staff are licensed clinicians from a variety of disciplines include professional counselors, social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists. Students can access services for a nominal or no fee, depending on whether they are on the student health plan and type of service, and sessions occur every 2-3 weeks throughout a semester or academic year.

TimelyCare is a free 24/7 virtual health and emotional support app. It is designed specfically with college students and includes on-demand medical care, emotional support, and a free library of self-help resources. This application is free for all OU students. While TimelyCare offers immediate crisis support and brief, solution -focused counseling, it is not a replacement for ongoing services already avaliable to students and is complementary to services already avaliable to students.

The ADRC is OU’s location for providing accommodations to students with documented disabilities. Accommodations are provided to students on an individual basis after the student registers with the ADRC and participates in the interactive process with staff. The ADRC can provide academic accommodations, housing and dietary accommodations, temporary accommodations, deaf/hard of hearing services, and blind/low vision services.

OU Advocates provides confidential, compassionate, culturally, and trauma-informed care to all OU student survivors of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, stalking, and/pr sexual harassment. They have a 24/7 crisis intervention helpline as well as in-person services Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM. Services include emotional support, safety planning, resource and report navigation, academic and housing accommodations, and accompaniment to university meetings, medical and forensic exams, law enforcement interviews, and court hearings.
