Crimson Momentum

Crimson Momentum is a student-led executive board responsible for the strategic guidance and direction of Startup OU in efforts to grow the organization's impact on the University of Oklahoma student body. The Crimson Momentum executive board plays a critical role in supporting Startup OU in providing university students unique opportunities to develop ideas, build entrepreneurial skills, and connect with other innovators and starters at the University of Oklahoma.

The student executive board comprises a multidisciplinary team of students from across the University of Oklahoma* that together develop entrepreneurial leaders, engage university and community partners, and guide Startup OU in creating and implementing experiential initiatives. At its core, Crimson Momentum seeks to instill the entrepreneurial mindset in emerging student leaders while developing their skills on the professional and personal levels. 

Members of the student executive board are required to attend monthly board meetings with Startup OU leadership to share ideas and opportunities for organizational development, collaboration and growth. In addition to regularly meetings, student executive board members are expected to promote Startup OU's various student-facing initiatives, assist in coordinating experiential activities and providing mentorship to Crimson Momentum freshman ambassadors.

*The student executive board is open to all students, degree programs and backgrounds, including graduate students.

Startup OU also offers a freshman ambassadorship program designed to integrate first-year university students into the student executive board's operations and activities. This ambassadorship program serves to connect student ambassadors to university resources and entrepreneurial ecosystem opportunities for the purposes of building a foundational knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Ambassador responsibilities include promoting Startup OU's various student-facing initiatives, assisting in executing experiential activities, and receiving mentorship from Startup OU leadership and the Crimson Momentum student executive board.

Startup OU employs a common application when onboarding prospective members to Crimson Momentum. The common application will provide access to certain questions when/if applicants select the corresponding option(s). Please note, freshmen are only eligible to apply to the Freshman Ambassador Program. Sophomores and above (including graduate students) are eligible to apply to the Student Executive Board.
