Visiting Resident Elective Rotation

In an effort to increase interest in vascular surgery and improve physician shortage in Oklahoma and the surrounding region, the OU-TU School of Community Medicine Department of Vascular Surgery is pleased to announce we are accepting residents for an elective vascular rotation.

This is an opportunity to gain experience in vascular surgery and vascular patient care. The elective rotation is open to surgical residents at the PGY 3-5 training level. We are open to exposing general surgery residents in any way we can to vascular surgery. To prepare for the elective rotation, the process should be initiated 6-8 months before the desired rotation dates. All visiting residents must abide by OU rules and regulation to participate in the rotation.

The Department of Vascular Surgery offers trainees the opportunity to work in:

•        Complex aortic care

•        A multidisciplinary Limb Preservation Clinic

•        A carotid and stroke center

•        A state-of-the-art dialysis program including the latest endovascular procedures

•        A comprehensive vein center
