Blake O’Brien is director of sustainability at Dominion Energy, where he is responsible for managing the company’s sustainability program. He directs Dominion Energy’s sustainability and climate reporting efforts and advises senior leadership on social, political, and environmental trends. He also oversees the company’s employee sustainability education program. Blake frequently engages with key external stakeholders, including investors, investment banks, and industry groups such as the Edison Electric Institute and the Electric Power Research Institute. Prior to joining Dominion Energy, he worked in various finance roles at Chevron, including an assignment in Thailand. 

Blake serves on the board of directors of CultureWorks, a nonprofit that supports local arts organizations and helps cultivate a thriving arts and culture scene in Richmond, Virginia. He was named board secretary in 2019 and chair-elect in 2023.

A native of Grove, Oklahoma, Blake holds a BBA from the University of Oklahoma, where he majored in energy management and finance. He earned an MBA from the University of Virginia (Darden). While at OU, Blake served as chair of the JCPenney Leadership Program’s Student Advisory Board. Blake lives in Richmond, Virginia, with his three children and soon-to-be wife, Laura. At times homesick for Oklahoma, he will stop anyone wearing an OU shirt on the East Coast and strike up a conversation.
