Summer Session 2014

Get Ahead. Stay on Track. Catch Up.

Why should you enroll in OU Summer Session?

Summer Session at the University of Oklahoma provides students with a unique opportunity to get ahead, stay on track, or catch up while still enjoying some downtime during the summer.

Current Sooners may enroll in summer courses to help ease fall and spring semester course loads. Many are able to get into that “always full” required course during the summer session, while others appreciate being able to singularly focus on a difficult subject. Current students also choose to pursue special topics during the summer – like Education Abroad, intensive study, and practicum experiences – that may not easily fit into fall or spring course schedules.

Visiting Sooners can enroll in OU summer courses as well. Current high school students and Oklahomans who are attending college out-of-state enjoy taking OU summer session classes. Visiting students are welcome to enroll in one of our courses and find that it is easy to apply for summer admission.

Most summer classes held on campus are small, allowing students and faculty to enjoy more informal interactions in a relaxed environment. In addition, all students may live on campus during the summer months where friendships are formed, programming and activities are provided, and easy parking is available.

Understanding that many look forward to a slower pace during summertime, OU’s intensive, accelerated summer course schedule allows students to earn quick credit hours while providing ample time for enjoying summer downtime and fun.
