For this assignment, you will post at the D2L Discussion board a list of eight of your favorite websites together with a brief sentence or two about each one. Click here to see a sample post that meets the requirements of this assignment.

To insert a link in a D2L discussion forum, follow these instructions:

• Click on the "Compose" button in the upper left corner; a window will appear with two tabs.


• Click on the right "advanced" tab.
• Insert a link by clicking on the button in the toolbar that has an orange mark with a chain link in front of it
• This button opens a new window (see the screensot to the right) where you should click "url" in the "category" drop down menu, insert the URL in the "URL" field, and the website name in the "caption" field.
• For the "open in" option, select "new window." This will launch a brand-new browser window. Your readers will thank you for that because when they're done looking at your link, all they have to do is close that window.

It may be easier to do all of this if you keep D2L open in one web browser window, and open another browser tab (or window) where you go to the website you want to link to, so you have the address handy.

Make sure you check your links after you publish your post so that you can be sure your links are functioning! If you need to correct a mistake, just click on the "Edit" link above your post.

After you have completed the assignment, make a declaration in the Desire2Learn gradebook. You will find the Desire2Learn declaration in the Quizzes link in Desire2Learn.
