Applications for admission are reviewed by two committees: that of your host department-- Zoology or Botany/Microbiology--and the steering committee of the EEB program. State in your application letter to your host department that you wish to be considered for application to the EEB program. The EEB steering committee requires a statement of purpose from the applicant and a letter of sponsorship from a member of the EEB faculty. Both can be included in your departmental application. For Microbiology/Plant Biology applicants, the letter of sponsorship from a member of the EEB faculty should be requested to be sent to Dr. Michael Kaspari, EEB Director at mkaspari at ou dot edu. For Biology applicants, the potential EEB faculty member will submit their letter as part of the department’s internal application review process. Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to build a relationship with an EEB professor during the application process.
