Get Involved


Whether you are a new student at OU or an upperclassman, we believe there is a place for everyone here. Getting involved can be as easy as clickinga link or showing up to an event. With over 500 groups on campus and opportunities to create your own organizations, there is something for you at OU! Student Life is a great starting point in your involvement journey!

A few tips to getting involved and connected:

  • Connect to a group that focuses on interests you have.  Search for groups using keywords on OU's Engage platform. 
  • Experience student events happening everyday on OU's campus.
  • Come to the Office of Student Life (Oklahoma Memorial Union Suite 428) to meet student leaders and staff that can help you get connected.

Campus Programs

Campus Programs exists to engage with students throughout the year through a variety of events and programs. Most of these programs are studet-led with an emphasis on developing leadership skills while also building community on campus.

The Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture provides numerous resources for its students. College-wide resources include an annual career fair, advisors and liaisons, and student organizations.

Student life in the Mewbourne College is as varied as our student population.  There are plenty of ways to get involved in the college, from going to technical presentations from industry professionals, to volunteering at local Norman schools teaching kids about fossils, and even getting to hang out with your peers at events like our Welcome Back Social at HeyDay or the Welcome Back Cookout at Sarkeys Energy Center.

Athletics

Athletic events are a big part of the OU experience! Students receive free admission to all athletic events except football -- all you have to do is show your OU student ID!

Student Jobs

Students can find employment opportunities all over campus as office assistants, tutors, tour guides, and more! On-campus jobs are a great way for students to learn more about the university and prepare themselves for life after OU. Human Resources also provides the Job Location Program, a federally-funded job listing service, to help you find a part-time, off-campus job that fits your schedule.
